Great Western Trail

Just one week after running in the Illinois Marathon in Champagne, Ron ran in the Great Western Trail Half marathon today.  At first, he was a bit disappointed with his 1:40:21, but after he got home and realized that it was a tad faster than his last half, he was pleased :-)  He placed 79th over all (the race closed out with 1200 registrants), 59th for all men and 9th in his age group.  The girls were so happy to be able to go watch Daddy run since they didn't get to see him last weekend.  And we all finally lucked out with great weather for race day!

Go Daddy, go!  We plopped down at a spot in Wasco (near where Christian used to play baseball) and got to see Ron at mile 4 and mile 9.  Here he is lookin good at mile 9!

We hurried to the car, drove to St. Charles North and caught the shuttle bus to the finish in hopes of seeing Ron cross the finish.  The girls LOVED going to 'Christian's school' and getting on 'Christian's bus.'

We missed seeing him finish by a few minutes.  Oh well, at least we found him before he got on the shuttle bus!

But in the car she was a ham posing for pictures!
