Ellen went to Des Moines with the kids to visit family and friends. Christian has only been to Des Moines once but never to Missouri (Where Grandma Vi is) or Carroll (Where Ellen's Grandpa & Aunt & Uncle are). And Sophia has never met her great great Grandma Vi (that's who she got her middle name from - Viola). So since Mommy was off of work and Christian had Spring Break, it's Iowa or bust! Daddy stayed home to work though since he was lucky enough to have work that week. Christian was so sweet - on our way home to Chicago he said it was a nice vacation but that it didn't count as a family vaca because Dad wasn't with us ;)
Our first stop was to visit friends Dina & Darren. Their youngest, Leighton is a 11 months.
This is a pic of Ellen & Dina a year ago, Ellen's last visit to DesMoines. Leighton was born about 2 weeks after this picture was taken.
Ellis loves hugging other babies but Sophia was more interested in the paci that she stole away from Leighton!
Go figure, she would NEVER take a paci (shot it out across the room in fact) but she was very quick to steal Leighton's!

Poof! Wish granted! They both enjoyed eating the grass & leaves :) Kept Dina and I quite busy picking it out of their mouths!
Yes, Mardi Gras beads are interesting - hope she doesn't figure out HOW interesting for quite some time yet!!!

Ellis is such a big girl riding her bike all by herself! Molly has to make sure she doesn't go too fast or far since she doesn't know how to brake yet ;)
Leighton got tuckered out and fell asleep on Daddy Darren :)
Karlie gave a book to Sophia to read but she was sucking on it instead!
Kaden was quick to pose this way and that way for pictures - what a little ham!
Mommy is always taking the pictures so she's not in many. So Mommy did a self portrait with Sophia but Sophia was more interested in her puffies :)
